Here we are again! I hope you’ve had a great week! The temperature is climbing, and I’m not thrilled, but it’s still been a good week. I found some sticker moments; and I found some pictures to take for the May picture challenge I gave myself.

There were a couple days I wasn’t really sure what to take a picture of. I kinda just did the same thing day in and day out and forgot to really look for anything to take a picture of. But have no fear! There are 7 pictures for the blog this week. Were you worried? Lol.

Doesn’t that look so good!? This picture was taken on Sunday when I went to Rosalyn’s to cook dinner for Rosalyn and Sarah.

This picture makes me smile because these girls have become such good friends in a short time. We had a bonfire Saturday night, and then I got to cook for them Sunday.

It was so much fun to be in the kitchen with them. We talked, we laughed, we teased each other, and just had a blast. I made creamy garlic shrimp pasta and teriyaki sugar snap peas. Rosalyn made garlic bread; and she roasted the garlic herself before she put it in the butter. SO GOOD! And Sarah made brownies (not pictured because we were too busy playing with our ice cream and eating them).

I don’t stop smiling when I’m with these girls. This friendship has been such a blessing and I am so thankful that God put us together. And to be able to cook for them was so special. I hadn’t cooked for anyone except my family, so it really made my happy to get to share that with them.

Who doesn’t love to see a picture of pretty flowers? These beautiful pink flowers are actually right outside my house in our driveway. I got home on Monday and saw them, and knew they had to be the picture for the day.

Pink is my favorite color and these flowers are probably my favorite shade of pink. Maybe it’s because it just looks so good on them. I don’t know. But I just found them gorgeous.

These were just something that made me smile on my way in from work, and I had to document. Because I forget to do that most of the time.

This is the book I referenced in my last blog about finding the sticker moments. It’s calle “Winning the War in Your Mind” by Craig Groeschel and has been such an amazing book. It all about reframing your mind and not believing the lies that invade our mind from all over the place.

It has been life changing for me, honestly. I have found myself being so much more conscious of how I react to things and how I think about the things that happen in my life. He wrote in such a way that helps me to really think about the lies that I have believed and the truth that God has for me that I should be believing instead. It is a book I HIGHLY recommend for everyone, not just people who struggle with anxiety or depression.

Also, this picture was taken at the group meeting I was at where we’re reading the book. It’s a group for people with anxiety where we can feel safe to talk about our anxiety and not feel like we’re being judged because we all deal with anxiety in various ways.

Going to this group has been amazing because it’s so great to be in a room with ladies who understand the struggle I go through. We have a great time together. We support each other. We’re all there for each other no matter the circumstances. And it’s so great to have that.

I’m not the only one that has some ideas for dinner and then executes. My brother had this idea to fix dinner for the family, and he was able to execute something awesome.

He took baguettes, cut them into thin pieces, and topped them with three different things. We had some with mini burgers, some with pizza topping, and something with buffalo chicken dip. The buffalo chicken dip ones were my favorite, but they were all really good. I love that he had a random idea and decided to try it. That’s such a fun way to find something new to add to dinner menus.

I see these things pretty much every day. They are hanging from my rear view mirror, so every time I’m in my car, I see them.

The garland was made by my mom. It’s my favorite color, and I got to pick out the beads for it. It just adds a little something-something to my car that represents me really well.

The “Runs on Love and Sunshine” thing was given to me by someone who was a friend, but that I am no longer in contact with. And that’s okay. Friendships are sometimes only meant to be for a season. That doesn’t mean I can’t like something that came from that friendship. And I really like this one, so I like having it hanging there for me to see every day.

Shoes? You took pictures of shoes?

Yep. Fridays are casual Fridays at work. We get to wear jeans and sneakers, which makes us all really happy. I also wear bows on Fridays, and that makes me even happier.

On Friday, 2 of my coworkers and I had on similar shoes that I just felt like I needed a picture of. And I think our shoes are really cute and I love that we get to show our personalities, especially on Friday.

Steve made corndogs!

First of all, if you don’t know Steve, that’s my dad. Steve had some not so stellar corndogs a little bit ago and decided he could totally make those himself. So, with some help from Kathy (mom), he busted out corndogs for dinner Saturday. And they were bomb!

The whole Gibson clan does some magic in the kitchen, and we usually have fun doing so.

And I’m pretty sure I won’t want any other corndogs from now on.

I hope you all have a wonderful week! See you next Sunday with 7 more pictures!
