I’m Lucky and I Gnome It

Happy March!
I know I did my Valentine’s Day post showing my decorations at work on the first of February, but I’ve been a little busy, so the St. Patrick’s Day decorations post is slightly delayed. They were up at work on the first, but this post, obviously, did not get written right away. But ya know what? That’s okay. We’re here now.
So, as you may remember (if you don’t remember, check out the post Valentine’s Day Shenanigans), I decorated the work bulletin board for Valentine’s Day and I think it turned out super cute. And most of my coworkers expressed the same sentiments for my decorating debut.
And it’s a good thing too because I was already planning the looks for the upcoming months and holidays. And I have ideas for activities that I was so excited to share with them, and with you!
Enter . . . St. Patrick’s Day!

Everything I found to decorate the board was at Dollar Tree. Yes, I know Dollar Tree went from everything being $1 to everything be $1.25, but it’s still less than most everywhere else, so that’s where I buy my decorations. And they have some really cute stuff! As you can see.
I love getting the shiny garland to hang around the board. This one has shamrocks on it, which is awesome. And then I found the shamrock shapes at the bottom of the board and knew I had to put them on there as well. My coworker helped me come up with the way to place them so it looked at they were attached to the garland.
And how stinking cute is the leprechaun!? I saw him and could absolutely not resist him. He just adds so much personality to the whole display! He’s my favorite. His name is Finneas.
Of course, I changed our names out from red to green to keep with the St. Patrick’s Day theme. There’s a lot of green going on around here right now.
I made the little rainbow at the bottom out of cardstock and added a cloud because I thought it would be cute. I was right.
Now for the really cool idea I had. Well, I think it’s cool, and I’ve been told it’s cool, so I get to label it as cool.
The little cauldrons/pots hanging under our name serve a purpose. And it’s a pretty neat one. Ready? They’re pots of gold.
Okay, okay, I know you’re thinking “duh.” But stick with me here. The pots of gold have no gold in them right now. But they will. I cut out yellow paper to serve as our gold coins. We already had the perfect hole punch for it, so yay!

And everyone has a gold piece to give each person. But before the gold can be placed into the pot, a nice message must be written on it. It can be a little thank you, an encouragement, something they like about the person, etc. As long as it’s nice, it’s a go.
And on St. Patrick’s Day, everyone gets their happy little pots of gold and can have some uplifting messages to hopefully brighten their day.
You guys, I’m really proud of this idea, and I hope it works out the way I plan. Pretty much everyone seems on board with the idea, but I know I might have to remind at least one person or they’ll forget.
And then there’s my station.

Y’all, these lights have been the best investment! I had them changing colors at Christmas, they were pink or red for February for Valentine’s Day, and now they’re green for St. Patrick’s Day. I love being able to change them with the remote to match whatever is going on. I even influenced my coworker to get a set.
Of course, there are gnomes. I told you in the Valentine’s Day post that I’ve fallen in love with gnomes, so when I saw the “I’m lucky and I gnome it” wood block at Hobby Lobby, I picked it up without hesitation. It’s probably my favorite piece for this set of decorations.

And there’s never not a good time for glitter, so my glittery shamrock was an absolute must have from Hobby Lobby as well. I actually picked both of those items up at the same time I got some of my Valentine’s ones and just waited semi-patiently to put them up. I really wanted to get them out and just have them on display long before March got here.

My little spring rock that says peace is from a table centerpiece from a church function that we were given and I thought it would be perfect for my station. I was also right about that, so I feel like I’m doing pretty good here so far.

The photo holder and the “count your blessings” are pieces that stayed from when I put them out in February and will probably just be all the time decorations unless I get too many for a certain time frame.
And did you see my little calendar blocks? Everyone seems to miss the date that’s placed further down from my station and they look around confused until I tell them the date. So, I picked up that cute calendar thing at Pop Shelf. It doesn’t always work, but a few people have actually paid attention to it.
I have really enjoyed being put in charge of these things for work. I get to help bring smiles to my coworkers faces, but the things at my station also bring smiles to the members’ faces, and that’s awesome for me.
I’m really excited to see how things actually go for St. Patrick’s Day and our little pots of gold. I hope everyone participates and that they appreciate the kind things everyone has to say.
Thanks for stopping by this week! I’ll see ya next time!
